Experienced Ophthalmic Technician
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
We are a busy, well-established private ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced
Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, compassionate professional who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient workups, including medical and ocular histories
- Measure visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and perform refractions
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic imaging
- Assist the physician with minor in-office procedures and injections
- Prepare patients before procedures and monitor them during recovery
- Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical workflow
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required
- COA or COT certification preferred but not required
- Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and EMR systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Friendly, professional attitude with excellent patient care skills
