Position SummaryThis Therapist is an experienced, licensed mental health professional who combines strong clinical expertise with emotional maturity and sound judgment. Reporting to Clinical Leadership, this role provides therapy to adults navigating life transitions, grief, relationships, aging, purpose, and personal growth. Working within an integrated care model, the Senior Therapist collaborates with psychiatry, primary care, and other clinical team members to support whole-person wellness.Role allocation: 80% direct client care | 20% care team collaboration and administrative responsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Treatment PlanningConduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, including mental health history, risk factors, family dynamics, and cultural considerations.Develop accurate diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans.Identify clinical priorities and adjust treatment based on client progress.Consult with physicians, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary team members as appropriate.Clinical CareProvide individual therapy and monitor treatment outcomes.Support clients through life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, and personal growth.Integrate values-based, spiritual, or meaning-centered approaches when aligned with client preferences.Recommend community resources and coordinate care with the broader healthcare team.Maintain continuity of care by responding to client needs and triaging communications in a timely manner.Documentation & QualityComplete clinical documentation and treatment records within established timelines.Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards.Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and clinical program development.QualificationsRequiredMaster's degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.Active Virginia clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist, or equivalent).5+ years of post-licensure clinical experience.Experience providing psychotherapy to adults.PreferredTraining or experience in trauma treatment.Interest in neuroscience-informed psychotherapy.Experience with attachment-based, somatic, mindfulness-based, EMDR, IFS, ACT, DBT, or related modalities.Interest in program development, clinical innovation, teaching, research, or professional training.Commitment to lifelong learning and professional growthPreferred Areas of ExpertiseLife transitions and midlife concernsGrief and lossAnxiety and depressionRelationship challengesSpiritual exploration and meaning-makingCaregiver stressHealth and wellness concernsResilience and personal growthKey CompetenciesStrong clinical judgment and therapeutic skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal effectivenessProblem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesCultural humility and competenceTime management and organizational skillsCommitment to compassionate, patient-centered careAt Zoe, we're not simply looking for therapists to fill caseloads.
