The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Mid- to Senior-Level Environmental Engineer / Project Manager to join our Madison, Wisconsin office. This position is ideal for an engineer with strong technical and project management capabilities who enjoys building client relationships, delivering high-quality work, and contributing to business growth.
The successful candidate will support and lead environmental and solid waste projects for municipal, industrial, and private sector clients throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. We are particularly interested in candidates who can serve as a seller-doer-successfully managing projects and client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional work and helping grow Tetra Tech's environmental and solid waste practice.
A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin, or the ability to obtain Wisconsin licensure through reciprocity/comity within six (6) months of start date, is required.

Position Summary:
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, geologists, designers, and technical specialists, you will manage and support environmental and solid waste projects from initial concept through design, permitting, construction, and implementation.
Depending on experience, this position may serve as a Project Manager, Senior Engineer, and/or Seller-Doer, with responsibility for managing clients, scopes, schedules, budgets, technical deliverables, and project teams.
The ideal candidate will combine sound engineering judgment with strong communication and relationship-building skills and will be comfortable working directly with clients and regulatory agencies. The position also provides opportunities to participate in proposal development, client account planning, cross-selling, and development of new business.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Minimum of approximately 7 years of relevant environmental, solid waste, civil, or related engineering consulting experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or current PE licensure in another state with the ability to obtain Wisconsin licensure through comity/reciprocity or have ability to acquire PE within six (6) months from hire.
Demonstrated project management experience, including responsibility for project budgets, schedules, staff, technical deliverables, and client communication.
Experience delivering environmental, solid waste, remediation, or related infrastructure projects.
Strong technical engineering, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with the ability to develop productive client and team relationships.
Working knowledge of applicable environmental and/or solid waste regulations and permitting requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other commonly used project and engineering software.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.
