Position Overview

Chaminade Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced Cook III to join our Restaurant culinary team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable line cook with strong grill and sauté experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment.

This is an opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to join a talented team and contribute to exceptional food and guest experiences at one of Santa Cruz's premier resort destinations.

Experienced line cooks only. Grill and sauté experience required.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Work efficiently and confidently on the grill and sauté stations.
• Set up, stock, and maintain an organized and properly prepared workstation.
• Execute food orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
• Maintain consistent portioning, quality, temperature, and presentation.
• Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with cooks, chefs, servers, and other team members.
• Monitor food quality and freshness throughout service.
• Support the culinary team in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

What We're Looking For

• Previous professional line-cook experience required.
• Strong grill and sauté experience required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes and plating standards consistently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy services.
• Culinary education or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time opportunity available; Full time status and priority hours are negotiable for the right candidate.

• Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

• $500 Sign-On Bonus

• $250 paid after 30 days of employment in good standing.

• $250 paid after 90 days of employment in good standing.

• Additional benefits available for eligible full-time employees.
