As an Experienced Automotive Technician, you play a critical role in maintaining the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles. You diagnose complex issues, perform precise repairs, and ensure every vehicle leaves our shop performing at its best. You solve challenging mechanical and electrical problems, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive automotive diagnostics to identify root causes of vehicle issues.
• Executes engine repair and overhaul, restoring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and control units.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs brake systems, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance.
• Evaluates and corrects suspension systems, improving ride comfort and handling.
• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems, guaranteeing comfortable cabin temperatures.
• Assesses and repairs transmission systems, addressing both manual and automatic issues.
• Conducts preventative maintenance services, extending vehicle lifespan and preventing future breakdowns.
• Applies advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve intricate automotive problems efficiently.
• Communicates effectively with service advisors regarding repair needs and timelines.
• Documents all repairs and services accurately, maintaining detailed service records.
• Adheres to all safety protocols and environmental regulations in the workshop.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
• Completes vocational training or a technical degree in automotive technology.

Experience

• Holds a minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician in a professional setting.
• Demonstrates a proven track record of successful diagnostic and repair work across various vehicle makes and models.

Knowledge/Skills

• Exhibits expert knowledge in Automotive Diagnostics, Engine Repair, Electrical Systems, Brake Systems, Suspension Systems, HVAC Systems, Transmission Repair, Preventative Maintenance, and Troubleshooting.
• Proficiently uses diagnostic scan tools, oscilloscopes, and other specialized automotive equipment.
• Understands complex vehicle schematics and technical service bulletins.
• Applies strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to complex automotive issues.
• Communicates technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Works independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintains a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Holds current ASE certifications (e.g., Master Automobile Technician).
• Possesses specialized training or certifications from specific vehicle manufacturers.
• Experienced with advanced diagnostic software and telematics systems.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

• Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stands, bends, kneels, and crouches for extended periods.
• Works with hands and arms in various positions, including overhead.
• Operates hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Tolerates exposure to noise, fumes, automotive fluids, and varying temperatures.
