    Description

    Federal Alarm is seeking an Experienced Alarm Technician to join our Memphis team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing, servicing, repairing, and inspecting low-voltage security and life-safety systems.

    PRIOR ALARM/LOW-VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, service, repair, and inspect low-voltage systems in accordance with company standards, NEC, manufacturer guidelines, and safety policies.
    • Service and troubleshoot Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion, and CCTV systems.
    • Assist senior technicians with complex systems and provide guidance to less-experienced technicians.
    • Assist the Technician Manager (TM) as needed.
    • Complete required UL, FM, and other service documentation.
    • Communicate job progress and provide professional customer service during installations and service calls.
    • Assist with customer onboarding and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Operate job-related equipment such as bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and trenchers.
    • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, plans, and job specifications.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and follow all company safety requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous alarm, security systems, or low-voltage technician experience required.
    • Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion, and CCTV systems.
    • Basic understanding of IT and networking infrastructure.
    • Experience with hand and power tools.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
    • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
    • Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
    • Willingness and ability to obtain NICET I Certification.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in various positions for extended periods.
    • Ability to climb ladders and safely work from lifts and other elevated areas.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
    • Ability to work overhead and in tight or confined spaces.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to safely operate or work from bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and other job-related equipment.
    • Ability to perform essential job functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
