Overview
Concentra is now hiring an experienced and self-driven Full-Time Exercise Physiologist for an onsite position. This role will provide healthcare support at our onsite healthcare clinic located at our client''s San Diego, CA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
Salary Range: $80,000-$83,200

Position SummaryThe Exercise Physiologist is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being forclient-based occupational medicine and/or health improvement programs, focusing on deliveringexceptional patient/client care. The Exercise Physiologist instructs participant in the proper principle ofexercise, physical activity to improve overall strength, flexibility and performance measures, promotefitness progression, and assist in passing of work-related fitness testing (as applicable).
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Evaluating a patient's medical history and current fitness level• Conducting stress and fitness tests in accordance with defined, industry-accepted protocols• Administer maximal and sub-maximal cardiovascular fitness testing per accepted medicalprotocols; includes monitoring heart rate, heart rhythms via EKG, blood pressure, and breathingduring the test to ensure patient safety throughout the procedure• Measuring and monitoring vital statistics, including blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen level• Developing customized exercise programs to meet unique patient needs and monitoring progressover time• Instruct patient/clients in proper principles of exercise, utilizing a variety of media and equipment.• Demonstrate and maintain the alertness and the physical abilities to act in emergency situations.• Implement and execute action plan on timely basis and ensure appropriate results, as defined byclinicians as needed.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties orresponsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications
Education Level: Master's DegreeMajor: Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or a related field of studyDegree must be from an accredited college or university.
Education Details:• Master''s degree from an accredited college or university.Certifications and/or Licenses:• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR/1st Aid/AED required• Certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist is desired• Certifications that are preferred:• ACSM• ACE• CSCSExperience in lieu of required education is acceptable: NoContinuing education is required to maintain license and to perform job: No

Physical/Mental RequirementsWork continually requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual andfinger dexterity to operate various clinical and office equipment, and eye-hand coordination. Frequent toconstant sitting long periods of time to attend meetings and complete documentation necessary.Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and gripping to administer patient care andperform employee jobs task during ergonomic job analyses. Occasional climbing required to access plantsites and job locations. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds required. Must be able to perform near acuity,far acuity and accommodation to complete documentation care and perform job analyses. Hearing withinthe acceptable range for telephone/in-person contacts. Requires working under pressure duringemergency situations or during irregular hours.Work is performed in a work/clinical site environment. Involves occasional exposure to communicabledisease, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to aclinic environment. Must be able effectively resolve conflicts as they arise. Could be exposed to extremeheat and/or cold.

Travel: Minimal overnight travel up to 10% by land or air may be required of employee in this position.While travelling the employee may encounter varying weather conditions, road and walking surfaces andwill need to adjust to those conditions (i.e., inclement weather, slippery surfaces, wet surfaces, unevensurfaces, humid, cold or hot temperatures, etc.) Also, while travelling the employee will need to adjust tothe physical demands that may include: lifting to place luggage in overhead bin(s), standing in line(s),walking, sitting for unknown periods of time, and other physical demands that travelling may impose on a person.
