    Description

Executive Vice President of Operations + Industrial + Omaha

Our client is looking for a leader who can help shape the direction of their business, strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and then roll up their sleeves alongside the team to make sure projects get across the finish line.

The ideal candidate will bring the strategic perspective of a senior leader with the practical, hands-on mentality of an operator. You'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team in a family-owned organization where adaptability, relationships, accountability, and execution all matter.

    What You'll Do

    • Partner closely with the CEO to translate company strategy and growth objectives into actionable plans.
    • Provide leadership across day-to-day operations, helping teams stay aligned around priorities, schedules, budgets, and customer commitments.
    • Serve as a key connector across business development, estimating, engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, and field construction.
    • Maintain and grow relationships with clients, engineering partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders.
    • Stay actively involved in business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting proposals and preconstruction activities.
    • Provide executive oversight of projects from contract award through completion and closeout.
    • Review project estimates, proposals, budgets, staffing plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
    • Monitor project performance and step in when challenges arise to help teams develop practical solutions.
    • Provide leadership around change order management, contractual risk, project profitability, and overall execution.
    • Coach and support operational leaders while creating accountability throughout the organization.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, efficiency, safety, quality, and profitability.
    • Work directly with teams when needed rather than simply delegating responsibility.

    What They're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the construction industry.
    • Industrial construction experience is required.
    • Strong business development experience with the ability to build relationships, understand customer needs, and contribute to company growth.
    • Experience working with or alongside Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) organizations.
    • Demonstrated experience managing project profitability, operational risk, contracts, and client relationships.
    • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
    • A flexible leadership style with the ability to navigate changing priorities and solve problems without taking an overly rigid approach.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with everyone from executives and customers to project teams and field personnel.
    • Comfortable working within a family-owned business where collaboration, trust, adaptability, and personal accountability are important.

If you've built your career in industrial construction and enjoy the intersection of operations, people, projects, and business development, this is an opportunity to have a meaningful voice in where the organization goes next-and a hands-on role in getting it there.
