Executive Underwriter - Primary E&S Casualty

We are seeking an experienced Executive Underwriter specialized in Primary Excess & Surplus (E&S) Casualty lines to join a dynamic team. This role focuses on underwriting commercial insurance policies primarily for general liability and construction risks within the wholesale broker markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead underwriting efforts in the Primary E&S Casualty space, focusing on non-admitted markets.
• Assess and evaluate risks within the designated territory, providing expertise in construction and general liability exposures.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships in the wholesale insurance markets.
• Analyze complex underwriting submissions to determine appropriate risk placement and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate closely with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams to ensure alignment on risk appetite and portfolio performance.
• Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to team development and growth.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in Primary E&S Casualty underwriting, with a strong background in construction and general liability.
• In-depth knowledge of wholesale broker markets and non-admitted insurance products.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Leadership experience preferred.
