Executive Sous Chef

Village Anchor | Anchorage, Kentucky

Village Anchor is looking for an experienced Executive Sous Chef to help lead one of Louisville’s most established neighborhood restaurants.

You’ll work directly under Executive Chef & General Manager Chase Schnatter, whose creative specials, consistency and neighborhood-driven style have helped define Village Anchor for years.

This is a senior sous chef role with real day-to-day ownership of the kitchen.

What You’ll Own

• Overall day-to-day leadership of the back of house, with accountability for food quality, kitchen execution and supporting Chef Chase and company leadership wherever needed
• Daily kitchen operations and service
• Ordering, receiving and kitchen organization
• Inventory control and product management
• Food cost control, waste management and purchasing discipline
• Labor cost control, scheduling and productivity
• Scheduling, coaching and leading the culinary team
• Prep, production and execution
• Cleanliness, sanitation and health department standards
• Quality control and oversight of every plate leaving the kitchen
• Team accountability, training and development

You’ll primarily be executing Chef Chase’s culinary vision, but there is room to make your mark. Daily specials and seasonal menu changes are a big part of Village Anchor’s identity, and the right chef will have opportunities to contribute creatively as they grow into the role.

What We’re Looking For

We want a strong kitchen operator who is organized, hands-on, calm under pressure and comfortable leading a team. Significant sous chef or senior kitchen leadership experience is preferred.
