Position Summary: CMC Hospitality is seeking an enthusiastic Executive Meeting Manager. This role is responsible for booking and managing small group events, coordinating local catering, and upselling services to maximize revenue. You’ll handle everything from prospecting and closing business to executing flawless events. The Executive Meeting Manager serves as the primary liaison between the client and hotel operations, ensuring clear communication across all departments and delivering a seamless, high-quality experience that fosters repeat and referral business.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional experiences for planners by delivering a one-stop sales and detail process, with a focus on building long-term client relationships and repeat business
Work with groups of 50 or less both from to prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, banquet event orders).
Manage all phases of group business, including pre-event planning, on-site execution, billing and post-event follow-up
Coordinate all event details, including room blocks, meeting space, catering, audio-visual needs, and special concessions
Monitor and enforce contractual agreements, including key dates, cutoff deadlines, billing arrangements, and concessions
Respond promptly and professionally to all internal and external communications, representing The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport with clarity and consistency
Prepare and distribute group resumes and banquet event orders (BEOs)
Communicate all group-specific details, including rooming lists, history and event specifications to hotel departments in a timely manner
Develop in-depth knowledge of the hotel’s food & beverage offerings, pricing, and presentation standards
Support revenue generation by assisting in the sale of guest rooms and banquet services, as directed
Accurately forecast group rooms and food & beverage revenue for assigned business
Additional Expectations:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility in scheduling—including evenings, weekends, and holidays—may be required. Attendance at all scheduled meetings and training sessions is expected.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality sales, event management, or a related field
Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to calculate room blocks, average rates, and forecasts
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to execute confidentiality agreements (non-disclosure and non-compete)
Preferred:
Experience in a full-service hotel environment
Proficiency in hotel systems (CI/TY or similar) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills
