Position Purpose

The Executive Director of Student and Family Experience provides strategic leadership for districtwide initiatives that strengthen student success through family engagement, community partnerships, health services, adult education, after-school programming, and family support services. Leads the development and implementation of comprehensive systems that improve access to resources, remove barriers to learning, and support the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of all students. Directs Family Resource Centers, Family Action Centers, Adult Education, After School Programs, Health Services, and related departments to ensure high-quality, equitable services aligned with District priorities. Establishes and sustains partnerships with community organizations, higher education institutions, healthcare providers, businesses, and nonprofit agencies to expand opportunities and wraparound supports for students and families. Collaborates with district and campus leaders to ensure services are coordinated, data-driven, and responsive to campus Comprehensive Needs Assessments. Leads professional learning, continuous improvement, and resource alignment to strengthen organizational capacity and ensure consistent implementation of district initiatives. Monitors program effectiveness, compliance, and performance outcomes while fostering innovation and accountability across all areas of responsibility. Advances the District's vision by building collaborative relationships that empower families, strengthen communities, and improve student outcomes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Campus-Based Support

  • Provides strategic leadership and support to campuses in implementing comprehensive family engagement, student support, and community partnership initiatives that improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborates with district and campus leaders to analyze data, identify campus strengths and needs, and develop targeted action plans that strengthen family engagement and remove barriers to student success.
  • Builds leadership capacity through professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance that equips campus teams to implement evidence-based family engagement and student support practices.
  • Establishes measurable performance goals, monitors implementation, and uses data to drive continuous improvement, ensuring equitable family voice, participation, and access to services across the district.
  • Oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of the Fort Worth After School Program, ensuring high-quality programming aligned with district priorities and student needs.
  • Provides executive oversight of Adult Education programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements while expanding opportunities for adult learners through strategic partnerships and workforce development initiatives.
  • Leads the development of community partnerships that enhance educational opportunities, student enrichment, and family services through collaboration with local organizations, higher education institutions, businesses, and community agencies.
  • Monitors emerging educational trends, research, and best practices to drive innovation, ensure program effectiveness, and advance the District's strategic priorities for student and family success.
Parent Engagement
  • Leads districtwide family engagement strategies that strengthen partnerships among schools, families, community organizations, and stakeholders to improve student success.
  • Supports campuses in developing sustainable family engagement systems that foster meaningful collaboration, shared responsibility, and increased family participation in student learning.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with internal and external partners to expand resources, coordinate services, and advance District priorities.
  • Collaborates with district departments to align family engagement initiatives, community partnerships, and campus supports that remove barriers to student achievement.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and professional learning that strengthens campus capacity to implement evidence-based family engagement practices.
  • Develops, implements, and continuously improves districtwide family and community engagement programs, events, and outreach efforts that promote equitable access, meaningful participation, and positive outcomes for students and families
Parent, Volunteer & Community Organizations
  • Provides strategic leadership to strengthen parent, volunteer, and community engagement as essential components of student success and school improvement.
  • Cultivates and sustains collaborative partnerships with families, community organizations, businesses, higher education institutions, and civic leaders to expand opportunities and support for students and schools.
  • Collaborates with campuses to strengthen parent and volunteer organizations, increase community participation, and build sustainable engagement structures that reflect the unique needs of each school community.
  • Facilitates meaningful collaboration with community partners to align resources, services, and initiatives that support District priorities and improve educational outcomes.
  • Promotes shared ownership and continuous engagement through ongoing outreach, relationship-building, and strategic partnerships that empower families and strengthen connections between schools and the communities they serve.

  • Provides strategic leadership to advance the District's vision for student and family engagement by developing and sustaining programs, partnerships, and support systems that remove barriers to learning and improve academic achievement, attendance, student well-being, and college, career, and life readiness.
  • Collaborates with campus and district leaders to implement data-informed strategies that strengthen family engagement, community partnerships, health and wellness services, and out-of-school learning opportunities that positively impact student academic outcomes.
  • Monitors organizational performance through the analysis of student achievement, attendance, engagement, and program effectiveness data to drive continuous improvement, ensure accountability, and maximize the impact of Student and Family Experience initiatives on student success.
Culture & Equitable Access
  • Champions the District's commitment to equity by ensuring all students and families particularly those from historically underserved populations have equitable access to programs, services, resources, and opportunities that support academic success and well-being.
  • Promotes equitable leadership practices that remove barriers to learning, strengthen family partnerships, and improve student achievement through inclusive decision-making and resource alignment.
  • Ensures campuses are equipped to connect students and families with the full continuum of district and community services needed to support academic achievement, attendance, wellness, and long-term student success.
Safety
  • Ensures compliance with District safety protocols, emergency management procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborates with district and campus leaders to promote safe, secure, and supportive learning environments.
  • Supports a culture of safety, preparedness, and accountability that protects the well-being of students, staff, and families.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides executive leadership for the recruitment, development, performance management, and evaluation of staff, fostering a high-performing culture while making recommendations regarding staffing, retention, succession planning, and personnel actions.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Certification/License:
    • Eligible for a Valid Texas Teaching Certification preferred;
    • Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Required: 6 years' related experience including;
      • 3 years' related supervisory experience.
  • Language: Bilingual working proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.
