Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the community's senior leader and is responsible for the overall success of operations, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, financial performance, regulatory compliance, sales, marketing, and census growth.

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President of Operations, the Executive Director leads all departments to ensure the community delivers exceptional care, hospitality, and service while achieving operational and financial goals.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a strong business acumen, a passion for serving seniors, and a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Community Leadership

• Provide overall leadership for all community operations
• Create a positive, resident-focused culture built on service excellence
• Drive employee engagement, accountability, and team development
• Ensure an exceptional experience for residents, families, and visitors
• Promote Pegasus Senior Living's mission, values, and culture

Financial & Operational Management

• Manage community budgets, expenses, and profitability
• Drive occupancy, revenue growth, and census development
• Analyze business performance metrics and implement strategic initiatives
• Ensure operational efficiency across all departments
• Achieve and exceed key performance indicators and financial objectives

Sales & Marketing Leadership

• Partner with sales teams to increase occupancy and community visibility
• Support lead generation, prospect engagement, and move-in conversions
• Build relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, and local organizations
• Champion the community brand within the market

Team Development

• Recruit, hire, coach, and retain top talent
• Lead and develop department managers and frontline staff
• Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and professional growth
• Promote high associate satisfaction and retention

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain licensing standards and survey readiness
• Oversee resident safety and risk management initiatives
• Ensure quality care and service standards are consistently achieved
• Support emergency preparedness and safety programs

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree or equivalent leadership experience
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-department operations
• Proven success managing budgets, financial performance, and occupancy goals
• Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining large teams
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead multiple departments and drive organizational success

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
• Previous experience as an Executive Director, Administrator, General Manager, or Community Director
• Senior Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, or Healthcare Operations experience
• Experience managing P&L responsibilities of $1M-$3M+ annually
• Multi-site or regional leadership experience
