Title: Executive Director Operational Risk Management, Investment Management

Base Salary: $220k $260k + Discretionary Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Executive Director-level opportunity sits within the Global Operational Risk Management function of a leading international financial services firm, serving as the senior risk leader with oversight of the Investment Management Division across the US and international regions. The role offers a rare combination of strategic influence and hands-on framework leadership from RCSA challenge and KRI monitoring through thematic reviews, scenario analysis, and board-level committee reporting. It's an ideal seat for a seasoned operational risk professional who is ready to shape risk culture, drive global consistency, and operate as a credible independent voice at the most senior levels of a globally integrated organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and oversee the operational risk management strategy for the Investment Management Division, partnering with risk domain SME functions across global and regional teams
  • Lead globally consistent framework implementation, challenge, and feedback in coordination with regional ORM team members covering the Investment Management Division
  • Lead annual RCSA processes including risk upgrade/downgrade decisions, attestations, and quality review;provide independent challenge and guidance to business units on risk and control self-assessments
  • Review new and material operational risk events within the Investment Management Division;provide challenge on root cause analysis, mitigating actions, and post-event appraisals
  • Define and monitor globally mandated KRIs by risk type to track risk appetite and provide early warning signals;challenge root cause analysis and action plans on breaches and adverse trends
  • Deliver aggregated, forward-looking, and independent views of risk exposure at periodic business leadership meetings and senior management forums
  • Lead global scenario workshops and provide subject matter expertise for regional scenario analyses
  • Assess top and emerging risks across the Investment Management Division, including regulatory change, system implementations, and shifts in the external risk environment
  • Identify and conduct thematic risk assessments and deep dives into top and emerging risk areas
  • Participate in and influence management committees and forums;contribute to the continuous improvement of operational risk practices across the division
  • Champion risk culture, training, and awareness initiatives within the Investment Management Division globally
