Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in treasury management, investment management, debt administration, endowment management, or institutional finance, including experience in organizational leadership, financial oversight, and staff supervision.
  • Higher education, public sector, nonprofit, healthcare, or other institutional finance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, investment management, debt financing, cash and liquidity management, financial analysis, and policy development.
  • Experience leading organizational initiatives and managing operational and technological change.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial issues, develop effective solutions, and provide sound recommendations to senior leadership and governing boards.
  • Proficiency with financial management systems, investment reporting platforms, spreadsheet and analytical software, and other business technologies used to support financial decision-making and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership, governing boards, external advisors, and other stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of treasury management, institutional investment management, debt financing, and strategic financial administration.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international equity markets, fixed income securities, alternative investments, portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management, liquidity management, and capital markets.
  • Understanding of economic and financial market trends and their impact on investment performance, debt management, and institutional financial resources.
  • Experience evaluating financial strategies, investment programs, and financing alternatives to support long-term organizational objectives.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
