Summary
The Executive Director of Facilities & Security serves as the college's Chief Building Officer, providing strategic leadership and oversight for facilities, capital construction, and security operations across the district. Reporting to the President, this position leads the planning and execution of facilities operations and capital initiatives that support the college's mission and long-term infrastructure needs. The role oversees maintenance, custodial services, grounds, utilities, fleet, energy management, and campus security, ensuring a safe, functional, and sustainable environment. The Executive Director also leads coordination of capital and bond-funded projects, ensuring effective delivery, regulatory compliance, and responsible stewardship of public resources. This position reports directly to the President/CEO for capital construction and bond-related initiatives and works in close coordination with the Vice President of Business and Administrative Services (CFO) on operational and day-to-day functions. Additional Compensation: This position includes a temporary stipend of 10% of base salary (not to exceed $15,000 annually) in recognition of expanded responsibilities related to capital construction and bond-funded projects. The stipend is provided for the duration of the project and is subject to periodic evaluation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations governing facilities and construction management and planning principles and practices. Public procurement knowledge. Ability to communicate technical concepts; sustainability knowledge; strategic planning, and financial acumen. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction methods. Understand the operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of principles and practices related to computerized energy management systems, lighting systems and electronic door systems. Knowledge of NIMS and ICS. Skilled in oral, written and interpersonal communication; supervising and training others; and in use of computer programs, such as word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to prepare and manage budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology, Construction Management or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible, related experience including at least four years with supervisory and budget management responsibility, or Masters degree and 4 years directly related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Human Resources Department.
Leadership of large-scale capital projects is at must.
