About the Position
Vitality Living of New York Mills is seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Director to lead our community and support the highest quality of care and service for our residents.
The Executive Director is responsible for providing overall leadership, operational management, regulatory compliance, team development, resident and family relations, and financial oversight of the community. This role is ideal for a strong leader who is passionate about senior living, developing people, building relationships, and creating a positive community environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the community while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to all team members while promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Ensure high-quality resident care and an exceptional resident experience.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, team members, visitors, and community partners.
- Monitor incident reports and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Oversee staffing, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Partner with Human Resources to support recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention.
- Conduct and complete annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Work with regional leadership and consultants to identify challenges, develop solutions, and improve operations.
- Support regulatory surveys and assist with Plans of Correction when necessary.
- Monitor the community's financial performance, budgets, expenses, and revenue.
- Analyze budget variances and take corrective action when needed.
- Support occupancy growth and maintain strong referral relationships within the local community.
- Develop relationships with local organizations, agencies, and individuals to support community growth.
- Work with leadership and maintenance teams to identify capital needs and maintain the property.
- Support resident engagement and team member engagement initiatives.
- Promote Vitality's Mission and Values through words and actions.
- Encourage open communication, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and support activities, special events, and educational opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and compliant administrative records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
- Active Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) license in the State of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of leadership experience in assisted living, senior living, long-term care, or a closely related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, team members, and community partners.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with regional and community leadership.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred.
- Must maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and company information.
- Must maintain a clear driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Must meet all Minnesota Department of Human Services background study requirements.
Schedule
This is an exempt leadership position. Full-time position. The Executive Director must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on community needs.
