The Executive Director, IT Business Partner, Commercial & Medical will serve as a senior IT leader responsible for partnering with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and related business functions to define and execute technology strategies that enable commercial launch readiness, scalable growth, compliant operations, and long-term business value.

This role will act as the primary strategic IT partner to Commercial and Medical leadership, translating business priorities into integrated technology roadmaps, investment plans, and have lead IT accountability for timely implementations required to support a successful barzolvolimab launch. The Executive Director will be accountable for ensuring that technology capabilities, data platforms, business applications, vendor partnerships, and delivery models are aligned with launch objectives, enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and future growth needs.

As a senior member of the IT leadership team, this role will also play a critical role building IT leadership depth, strengthening business partner capabilities within IT, mentoring emerging leaders, and ensuring continuity of knowledge, relationships, and strategic execution across key technology domains.

Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the senior IT business partner and trusted advisor to Commercial, Medical Affairs, and other launch-related business functions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, launch priorities, operating models, external customer engagement needs, and functional growth plans.
  • Translate business priorities into clear IT strategies, roadmaps, investment plans, and delivery commitments.
  • Partner with business leadership to identify technology opportunities that improve launch readiness, operational effectiveness, customer engagement, data-driven decision-making, and scalability.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across IT, Commercial, Medical, Legal, Compliance, Quality, Finance, and external partners.

Technology Roadmap & Portfolio Accountability

  • Own and maintain the Commercial and Medical IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with launch milestones, business priorities, enterprise platforms, and budget planning.
  • Lead prioritization of technology initiatives across Commercial and Medical functions, balancing business demand, regulatory requirements, resource capacity, vendor dependencies, and enterprise standards.
  • Develop business cases for major technology investments, including expected value, risks of non-delivery, implementation approach, dependencies, and ongoing support considerations.
  • Partner with internal Infrastructure & Operations team for architecture, data, infrastructure, security, and application delivery to ensure solutions are scalable, integrated, secure, and supportable.
  • Ensure the roadmap supports key commercial and medical capabilities, including CRM, field enablement, omnichannel engagement, content management, medical information, market access, payer data, patient services, analytics, reporting, and compliant customer engagement.

Commercial & Medical Technology Enablement

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational accountability for implementation of integrated systems across the Commercial and Medical technology ecosystem, including platforms and capabilities supporting:
  • CRM and field force enablement
  • Omnichannel and digital engagement
  • Promotional and medical content management
  • Medical information and inquiry management
  • Market access and payer data platforms
  • Patient services and hub-related capabilities
  • Price reporting and spend transparency
  • Commercial data, analytics, reporting, and insights
  • Field compliance, MLR processes, and regulated workflows
  • Integration with enterprise systems, data platforms, and security capabilities
  • Ensure platforms are designed and implemented to support compliant, efficient, and scalable commercial and medical operations.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to enable trusted, governed, and actionable insights for Commercial and Medical stakeholders.
  • Promote standardization, simplification, and reuse of enterprise capabilities where appropriate.

Vendor, Partner & Ecosystem Management

  • Lead strategic engagement with key technology vendors, implementation partners, managed service providers, and external consultants supporting Commercial and Medical IT.
  • Ensure vendors are accountable for delivery commitments, quality expectations, compliance requirements, documentation, and operational support.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and business owners on vendor selection, contracting, renewals, performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Build a scalable delivery ecosystem that balances internal knowledge retention with external expertise and flexible execution capacity.
  • Ensure vendor solutions and delivery models align with company standards, budget expectations, regulatory obligations, and long-term support needs.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure Commercial and Medical technology solutions comply with applicable company policies, regulatory expectations, privacy requirements, cybersecurity standards, and data governance practices.
  • Ensure platforms and processes protect sensitive business, patient, HCP, and partner data.

Leadership, Team Development & Succession Planning

  • Serve as a senior IT leader and active member of the IT leadership team, contributing to IT strategy, operating model development, resource planning, and enterprise prioritization.
  • Play a critical role in IT succession planning by developing leadership capability, mentoring team members, and strengthening organizational bench strength.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to direct and indirect team members, project teams, business analysts, delivery leads, and vendor partners.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, business ownership, and high-quality execution.
  • Represent IT in executive-level forums, steering committees, and cross-functional governance meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degee in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with significant experience supporting Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access, Analytics, Patient Services, or related functions in the life sciences industry. Manufacturing/Supply Chain experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a strategic IT leader and trusted business partner to executive-level business stakeholders, influencing enterprise priorities and organizational transformation.
  • Proven track record developing and executing technology roadmaps, business cases, investment plans, and multi-year portfolio strategies aligned to corporate growth objectives.
  • Experience building, leading and governing complex, cross-functional technology programs from strategy and solution design through implementation, adoption and operational support.
  • Strong understanding of commercial launch readiness and demonstrated experience establishing the technology capabilities, processes and governance required to support a growing biopharmaceutical organization transitioning to commercialization.
  • Experience leading the selection, implementation and optimization of commercial and medical platforms such as CRM, omnichannel engagement, content management, medical information, market access, patient services, analytics, and reporting solutions.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders, communicate complex topics clearly, and drive alignment and decision making across diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic partnership with hands-on ownership, execution and accountability for business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data, analytics, digital engagement, enterprise applications, and integrated platform ecosystems, including the ability to establish scalable and future-ready technology architectures.
  • Prior people leadership experience, including building, developing and leading high preforming teams through coaching, mentoring, talent development and succession planning.
  • Commitment to developing talent, building leadership depth, and supporting long-term IT organizational continuity and succesion.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, selecting, and governing AI capabilities to drive measurable business value, including launch readiness, productivity gains, and operational efficiency, while ensuring alignment with regulatory, security, and ethical standards.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $ 233,631 to $303,417.We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
