Taco Boy Folly Beach is a laid-back, beachside taco spot just steps from the sand — known for scratch-made, Mexican-inspired food, strong drinks, and beach bar energy. Our kitchen runs at high volume, high energy, and high standards, serving a steady stream of locals and beach-goers year-round.
We're looking for an Executive Chef who can take full ownership of the kitchen — someone who builds structure, sets the standard, and leads a team with accountability, without needing to be told twice.

What You'll Do
·       Run day-to-day kitchen operations independently, from prep through close, with minimal oversight
·       Prepare and cook scratch-made, Mexican-inspired dishes to a consistent standard, for regular service and special events alike
·       Build and enforce consistent training, prep, and recipe standards across the team
·       Manage day-to-day staffing: assign tasks, set performance and development goals, and hold the team accountable to a clear standard
·       Manage food cost, labor cost, and inventory/ordering to hit budget targets, minimizing waste
·       Train all team members on and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local food safety and labor regulations
·       Maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen environment and consistent quality across all raw and cooked food
·       Partner with the General Manager on menu execution and kitchen performance
·       Jump in on any station as needed — this is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job
·       Build a stable, well-trained team and reduce kitchen turnover

What We're Looking For
·       3+ years of culinary leadership experience in a supervisory or executive chef capacity, ideally in a high-volume kitchen (beach, coastal, or high-tourist-traffic experience a plus)
·       Proven ability to lead a kitchen independently, with strong structure, accountability, and decision-making skills
·       Experience managing food cost, labor cost, and inventory in a fast-paced environment
·       ServSafe or Food Handler's certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
·       Working knowledge of food service regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
·       Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to run hot and cold line production simultaneously under pressure
·       Strong communication and team leadership skills
·       Experience with restaurant POS/back-office systems (e.g. Toast, Restaurant365) a plus

Physical Requirements
·       Able to stand for extended periods, up to 8+ hours per shift, in an environment with varying temperatures
·       Able to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects as required for the role
·       Proficient with hand tools and kitchen equipment relevant to the position

What We Offer

·       Medical, dental, and vision insurance (50% employer-paid)
·       Short-term disability (50% employer-paid)
·       Additional voluntary/ancillary benefits available at employee expense
·       Manager meal comps at all Taco Boy locations
