It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work
The primary purpose of this position is to provide office and administrative support and facilitation of workflow for two Directors within DAC's Division of Community Supervision. The Division of Community Supervision provides probation, parole and post-release supervision for individuals returning to their communities after serving their sentences. More than 2,000 probation/parole officers serve across the state, with offices in every county, supervising more than 80,000 individuals living in North Carolina communities.
This position also serves as a liaison between the Directors and the Judicial Division Directors and other field management, the Commissioner's Office, Secretary's Office, Governor's Office, representatives of various law enforcement entities, and Legislature. Public contact is also an important component of the role, as the position holder will communicate directly with stakeholders and the public on behalf of the Directors. This position also serves as administrative support backup to the Chief Deputy Secretary as needed and will also collaborate on projects and initiatives.

Salary Range: $45,431.00 - $79,504.00

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with benefits. Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution
OR
Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience
OR
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
