JOB DESCRIPTION
The Executive Assistant 2 provides high-level administrative support to the Director of Juvenile and Youth Services, ensuring smooth coordination of daily operations, schedules, and department-wide activities. Core responsibilities include managing confidential information, drafting correspondence, organizing meetings and events, tracking contracts and projects to ensure deadlines are met, maintaining shared records and documentation, and executing tasks as assigned by the JYS Department Director. Success in this role requires exceptional reliability, consistent attendance, proactive engagement, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-moving executive environment. The Executive Assistant must demonstrate strong organizational judgment, manage multiple priorities, and work closely with leadership to support departmental goals. The role involves coordinating with internal and external partners, supporting communications, and engaging with professional networks across Wayne County Government. Experience navigating county or municipal government operations such as interacting with oversight bodies, understanding administrative workflows, and working within established county processes is highly beneficial. Key technical skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), calendar and scheduling tools, and email platforms. Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management abilities combined with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential for building trust and facilitating seamless operations.
