Excavation Field SupervisorRoto RooterLocation: Danville, VAFull-Time | Year-Round EmploymentBase Salary: $30,000 plus uncapped commissionExpected Annual Earnings: $60,000-$85,000+ annuallyLead the Project From Customer Conversation to Field CompletionRoto Rooter is looking for an Excavation Field Supervisor who can combine strong customer relationship and sales skills with hands-on knowledge of excavation, construction, underground utilities, or related field operations.This is not strictly a crew supervisor position. You will meet with customers, evaluate their property and project needs, develop solutions, help secure work, and then oversee the field teams responsible for completing those projects.Your earning potential is tied to both sales performance and the successful performance of the work being completed, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project from the initial customer conversation through completion.What You'll DoMeet with residential and commercial customers to evaluate excavation, underground utility, plumbing, and property needsBuild relationships with customers and help identify the right solution for their projectExplain project recommendations, scope, pricing, and expectations in a clear and professional mannerPrepare or assist with estimates and proposals for excavation and related projectsFollow up with prospective customers and help convert opportunities into scheduled workDevelop relationships with contractors, builders, property managers, municipalities, and other potential referral partnersCoordinate sold projects with excavation crews and internal team membersSupervise and provide direction to field teams completing assigned projectsMonitor project progress, productivity, workmanship, and overall crew performanceEnsure crews understand project scope, customer expectations, and job requirementsCoordinate labor, equipment, materials, scheduling, and other field resourcesIdentify job-site challenges and help develop practical solutionsMonitor projects for quality, efficiency, safety, and profitabilityCommunicate with customers throughout the project and address questions or concernsIdentify additional customer needs or project opportunities when appropriateMaintain accurate communication regarding project changes, additional work, and job progressTake ownership of customer satisfaction from the initial consultation through project completionWhat We're Looking ForQualified candidates should have:Experience in excavation, underground utilities, plumbing, construction, site development, heavy civil work, or a closely related fieldExperience in field supervision, project coordination, construction leadership, sales, estimating, or account managementStrong ability to communicate with customers and build trusted relationshipsA sales-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and confidently recommend solutionsAbility to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly mannerStrong leadership skills and the ability to
