Why Work Here?
Employees benefit from long-term contract opportunities rather than short-term temporary assignments, providing stability and continuity in their careers. Annual performance reviews offer the potential for raises and recognition based on individual contribution and growth. Working within a healthcare organization that is expanding and adding new facilities creates ongoing opportunities for advancement and professional development. Team members receive holiday pay and accrue paid time off over time, with 40 hours of PTO available after 1–2 years of service and 80 hours of PTO after more than 2 years, supporting work-life balance and personal well-being.
Work Environment
This role is based in a hospital setting in Kenosha, WI, working across medical centers and associated facilities. The EVS Housekeeping professional works closely with and near patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff in active clinical environments. The position involves frequent exposure to medical infectious waste and requires strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols. Daily work includes pushing, pulling, and transporting heavy objects, equipment, and furniture throughout patient care and support areas. The job requires continuous physical movement, including bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and changing body positions to clean environmental surfaces thoroughly. Stepladders are occasionally used to access vents, light fixtures, windows, and cubicle drapes. The role also involves frequent kneeling and stooping to clean tubs, shower stalls, plumbing fixtures, stairs, baseboards, furniture legs, and wheels, as well as wringing out wet mops and removing trash from containers. Constant repetitive hand and arm motions are necessary to damp wipe surfaces, run buffers and scrubbers, vacuum, and mop. Staff may occasionally encounter exposed patient body parts while working in clinical areas, and must maintain professionalism and follow all hospital guidelines in these situations. Attire is appropriate for a hospital environmental services role, supporting safety, cleanliness, and comfort during physically demanding work.
