Job Description
The City of Raleigh is seeking an Events Planner for Dix Park. This individual will be a key member of the Program and Events Team. This role will be responsible for end-to-end event planning, budget management, and staff management. Key responsibilities include overseeing event management, collaborating with user groups to plan and execute events, supervising staff, delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external user groups, managing budgets, coordinating the planning and execution of programs and events, and ensuring compliance with safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Regular night and weekend work is required with this position.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience in large-scale event planning, programmatic creation, staff management, effective communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of best practices and trends, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines. The candidate should be creative, hands-on, detail oriented, and organized.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in Technical Theatre Production, Recreation, Public Administration, Event Management, or related field; 1 to 3 years experience in technical theatre production, recreation, event management, or related field
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
