JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Events Coordinator I supports the planning, coordination, and execution of events ranging from small meetings to large-scale ministry events. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of independently coordinating event logistics while collaborating effectively with internal teams and vendors to ensure successful execution.

This position reports to the Events Assistant Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Coordinate and manage event logistics from planning through completion, including travel arrangements, setup, teardown, and post-event follow-up
  • Collaborate with assigned departments and ministries to plan and support upcoming events and travel needs
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and timelines are met
  • Ensure all required contracts, policies, and event guidelines are followed for each event
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and service providers
  • Process work orders, purchase orders, receipts, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and ongoing communication to all departments and ministries
  • Assist the Events Assistant Director and Director as needed
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other Events Coordinators
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with tact, discretion, and professionalism
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

This will also include:

  • Regular attendance at Church services and classes
  • Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
  • Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time, when needed by the Church

  • Demonstrated Christ-like character, spiritual maturity, and alignment with Lakewood Church culture
  • Proven experience coordinating and supporting events, including managing multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented disposition
  • Basic understanding of vendor coordination and contract compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as event schedules require
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning or coordination
