Description

Our client, a hospitality and events company, needs temporary Event Setup Coordinators to support a full slate of fall and winter functions at venues across the Capital Region. This role covers physical setup and breakdown of event spaces, including furniture, staging, signage, and decor, ahead of weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.

The assignment runs through the end of the year with the possibility of extension into peak holiday season. Shifts vary by event schedule and may include evenings and weekends. No prior event industry experience is required, but candidates should be comfortable with physical work and following detailed setup diagrams.

This is a good fit for someone available on short notice who enjoys varied, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up tables, chairs, staging, and decor according to event floor plans
  • Break down and store equipment after events conclude
  • Load and unload rental items and supplies from delivery vehicles
  • Coordinate timing of setup tasks with the event lead on site
  • Inspect furniture and equipment for damage before and after use
  • Assist with minor AV and lighting setup as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness of event spaces during setup and breakdown
  • Report inventory shortages or equipment issues to the site supervisor

Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Available for evening and weekend shifts based on event schedule
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation to varying venue locations in the Capital Region
  • Basic ability to read and follow floor plan diagrams
  • Prior event, catering, or warehouse experience is a plus but not required
  • Must pass a background check
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
