    Description

    Proper Hospitality is seeking a commercially minded Event Sales & Services Manager to drive group room and event revenue for Hotel June West LA. This is an individual contributor role designed for a strong on-property group seller. The role carries a personal booking goal and is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting group and event business before handing off confirmed programs to on-property teams for execution.

    Based in Los Angeles, this position offers exposure to multiple markets and regular travel for client meetings, site inspections, and large-scale programs.

    Position Overview

    Proper Hospitality is seeking a commercially minded Event Sales & Services Manager to drive group room and event revenue for Hotel June West LA.

    This is an individual contributor role designed for a strong on-property group seller. The role carries a personal booking goal and is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting group and event business before handing off confirmed programs to on-property teams for execution.

    Based in Los Angeles, this position offers exposure to multiple markets and regular travel for client meetings, site inspections, and large-scale programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Group & Event Sales Production

    • Proactively source, negotiate, and contract group room blocks and event business for Hotel June West LA.
    • Carry a personal booking goal for Group Rooms and Events, with an uncapped Sales Incentive Plan tied to production.
    • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry and prospecting through contract signature, then transition confirmed business to on-property teams.

    Prospecting & Business Development

    • Identify and prospect new accounts, planners, and agencies aligned with each property’s positioning.
    • Actively prospect for need periods and shoulder dates, contributing to overall portfolio pacing.
    • Use a mix of outbound prospecting, account reactivation, referrals, and market intelligence to build a healthy pipeline.
    • Leverage tools such as Knowland, Cvent, and AI-driven prospecting tools to uncover opportunities and prioritize outreach.

    Client Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate planners, third-party agencies, and event professionals.
    • Conduct client meetings, property tours, and site inspections across all assigned hotels.
    • Represent Proper Hospitality professionally and confidently in the market, positioning each property appropriately based on client needs.

    Collaboration & Handover

    • Partner closely with on-property Sales, Events, and Operations teams to ensure smooth handoff of contracted business.
    • Provide clear, detailed program context to property teams to support successful execution and client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with Revenue and Sales leadership as needed on pricing strategy and availability during high-demand periods.

    Systems & Administration

    • Accurately manage leads, accounts, and bookings using TripleSeat, Cvent, HMS Infor, and related systems.
    • Prepare contracts, proposals, and supporting documentation in line with Proper standards.
    • Maintain organized account notes and pipeline visibility to support forecasting and reporting.

    Market Presence

    • Participate in industry events, networking opportunities, and client entertainment as appropriate.
    • Travel between Los Angeles and Palm Springs regularly for site inspections, client meetings, and major programs.

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5+ years of hotel group and event sales experience, with a strong record of personal production.
    • Previous experience selling group rooms and events within a hotel environment is required.
    • Experience within lifestyle or luxury hospitality strongly preferred.

     

    Skills & Attributes

    • Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close group and event business.
    • Strong relationship-building and client management skills.
    • Comfortable managing multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.
    • Confident communicator with a polished, professional presence.
    • Organized, self-motivated, and accountable, with the ability to work independently.
    • Proficiency with sales and sourcing platforms such as TripleSeat, Cvent, HMS Infor, Knowland, and AI-enabled sales tools.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
