    The Event Manager will oversee the full event lifecycle, from concept development and budgeting through to on-site management and post-event analysis.     Key Responsibilities

    Event Planning & Strategy

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to define event objectives, target audiences, themes, and key deliverables.

    • Develop comprehensive event plans and timelines, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.

    • Conduct site visits, evaluate venue suitability, negotiate contracts, and coordinate logistics.

    • Create detailed event proposals, budgets, and project plans for approval.

    • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers.

    Event Execution & On-Site Management

    • Oversee all operational aspects of event delivery, including room layouts, signage, AV setup, catering, guest registration, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

    • Manage on-site teams and suppliers to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, sponsors, and partners before and during events.

    • Anticipate and resolve issues quickly to maintain high standards of professionalism and service.

    Marketing & Promotion

    • Partner with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies, content, and materials to drive attendance and engagement.

    • Oversee event communications, including invitations, registration processes, attendee correspondence, and post-event follow-up.

    • Ensure brand guidelines are upheld across all event touchpoints.

    Budget Management & Reporting

    • Prepare accurate budgets and monitor expenses throughout each project.

    • Track and reconcile invoices, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.

    • Analyse event performance and prepare comprehensive post-event reports and recommendations.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration

    • Supervise and mentor junior event staff and volunteers.

    • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring clear communication across departments.

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and venue representatives.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.

    • Minimum 46 years of proven experience planning and delivering complex events, ideally within a corporate or agency environment.

    • Demonstrated success managing events ranging from 100 to 2,000 attendees.

    • Strong budgeting and financial management skills.

    • Proficiency with event management software, CRM platforms, and MS Office Suite.

    • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration abilities.

    • Strong understanding of event marketing principles and attendee engagement strategies.

    • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

    • Confident communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

    • Willingness to travel within Kansas and occasionally to surrounding regions.
