The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking applicants interested in joining our Facilities Team serving as a District Wide 2nd Shift Custodian. This is a full-time vacancy working Monday - Friday from 3:15pm - 11:15pm. The purpose of this position is to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all of our students, educators and stakeholders throughout the community. This position performs a variety of custodial tasks and minor maintenance repairs to ensure the facility and campus grounds are properly maintained, secure and conducive to learning.

Essential Knowledge and Skills
Performs routine custodial work necessary in order to maintain a safe, clean and organized building in accordance with district safety rules.
Understands normal operation of building systems and reports any abnormality to lead people (boiler/heating problems, rooms too hot/cold, leaking faucet, etc.)
Moves furniture, supplies and equipment used to perform school housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Cleans, sweeps, mops, scrubs, and refinishes, tile terrazzo, wood, carpet, and concrete floors and stairways.
Cleans glass windows, doors, and entrances, at least daily.
Cleans filing cabinets, bookshelves, lockers, handrails, furniture and all other office and school room equipment.
Empties waste baskets, trash boxes, and other refuse containers and disposes of the waste.
Assists in setting up for school and after school activities, both school sponsored or for outside rental groups.
Uses physical strength to move and assist with moving furniture, decorations or supplies within the building.
Assists in refinishing gym floors and other cleanings and refinishing tasks that are routinely part of the school operations.
Performs seasonal work including, but not limited to maintaining lawn and shrubbery and snow/ice removal assignments.
Operates lawn mowers, snow removal equipment, and other related motorized grounds care equipment, as requested.
Day Shift Custodians: primary response to building snow/ice clearing from walkways and disarming security systems to welcome staff and students for the day.
Mid-day Shift Custodians: primary responsibility is to clean up before, during and after meal periods.
Evening and Late Shift Custodians: primary responsibility to check and secure all exterior doors and to set the building security alarm.
Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Work entails a flexible daily schedule, in response to building needs.
Performs a variety of physical tasks that include occasional floor to waist lifting 50#, bilateral carrying 50#, pushing/pulling up to 50# force, lowered work in standing, kneeling, and balancing between uneven surfaces.
Work involves working alone or being unsupervised for long periods.
Work requires the ability to travel within and outside the district, as scheduled and directed.
