    Description

    • Estimator Location: York, Pennsylvania
    • Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience
    • Travel: Frequent project-site travel, generally within a two-hour radius of York
    • Employment: Full-time, salaried is seeking a Commercial Estimator to assess small commercial projects, generally ranging from $250,000 to $500,000, and prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates. Reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction, this role partners with lead estimators, project managers, subcontractors, designers, and clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review plans, specifications, site conditions, and project requirements.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, and develop trade scopes of work.
    • Compile conceptual and bid-proposal estimates and analyze subcontractor bids for completeness and alignment.
    • Maintain current supplier, subcontractor, and market pricing.
    • Assist with proposals, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project presentations.
    • Identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Collaborate with project managers, designers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to refine budgets and align estimates with project scope and schedule.
    • Monitor project costs during construction and compare estimated versus actual performance.
    • Maintain estimating standards, document control, bid files, archived data, and project addenda.
    • Manage multiple estimating assignments while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Qualifications
    • Commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor or construction manager.
    • Targeting three to five-plus years while the client confirms the final experience requirement.
    • Strong ability to perform takeoffs, scope trades, level subcontractor bids, prepare conceptual budgets, and support proposals.
    • Working knowledge of commercial construction trades, project management, job-cost accounting, and scheduling.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Knowledge of market pricing and the ability to develop budgets from preliminary designs.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
    • Ability to travel to project sites and work safely in active construction environments. Relevant Markets Senior living, healthcare, higher education, urban, institutional, and industrial construction.
