Estimator

Growing Waukesha construction company is looking to hire an Estimator to be responsible for accurately estimating and preparingcompetitive bids for miscellaneous metals and structural steel scopes of work.This includes detailed plan/spec takeoffs, pricing, value engineering, andcollaboration with project management and field operations.

Key Responsibilities

·Review project plans, specifications, andrelated documents for Division 5 scope

·Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (structuralsteel, stairs, railings, embeds, lintels, supports, etc.)

·Solicit, scope, and level quotes fromfabricators, detailers, and suppliers

·Prepare comprehensive cost estimates andproposals, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs

·Identify project risks, opportunities, and valueengineering alternatives

·Maintain estimating database with updatedpricing and productivity rates

·Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits whenrequired

·Collaborate with project managers, fieldforemen, engineers, and clients

·Track and follow up on submitted bids andmaintain bid logs

Requirements

·3+ years of estimating experience in structuralsteel and miscellaneous metals

·Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, andestimating software (e.g., Bid Wizard, Procore, or similar)

·Solid understanding of construction means,methods, and labor productivity

·Strong math, analytical, and technical skills

·Familiarity with union labor environments andwage structures (a plus)

·Ability to read and interpret structural andarchitectural drawings
