Estimator/Project Manager - Structural Steel

Here's a chance to build a career on both sides of steel work: estimating and project management. A Kansas City steel fabricator and erector specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel packages is seeking an Estimator / Project Manager, ideal for an early- to mid-career professional ready to grow in each.

The work:

• Bids and proposals, including detailing, erection, and coatings quotes
• Quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel packages
• Project management of awarded jobs through fabrication and erection: schedule, budget, and change orders
• Coordination among general contractors, the shop, detailers, and field crews
• Submittals, RFIs, and project cost tracking

The background:

• 2-8 years in steel estimating, project management, or another related construction role
• Reads architectural and structural drawings
• Knows structural and miscellaneous metals scopes
• Preferred education: construction management or engineering degree, or equivalent experience
• Estimating software skills are a plus

Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000, plus a yearly bonus opportunity and a sign-on bonus for top candidates joining from competitors.
