Estimator / Project Manager - Steel Fabricator

Grow on two tracks at once. A Kansas City steel fabricator and erector specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel packages is hiring an Estimator / Project Manager, a strong fit for an early- to mid-career professional who wants to build estimating and project management skills together.

Main responsibilities:

• Produce quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel packages
• Put together bids and proposals, including quotes for detailing, erection, and coatings
• See awarded projects through fabrication and erection while handling schedule, budget, and change orders
• Keep general contractors, detailers, the shop, and field crews aligned
• Process submittals and RFIs and monitor project costs

Background and skills:

• A 2-8 year background in steel estimating, project management, or related construction work
• Able to interpret structural and architectural drawings
• Solid grasp of structural and miscellaneous metals scopes
• Degree in engineering or construction management (or equivalent experience) preferred
• Estimating software know-how is a plus

Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000, plus a yearly bonus opportunity and a sign-on bonus for top candidates joining from competitors.
