Description

Commercial Construction Estimator

Our client is a highly respected General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects throughout Western Pennsylvania. With a commitment to safety, integrity, and client satisfaction, they have built a diverse portfolio spanning office, healthcare, retail, industrial, mixed-use, and institutional projects while fostering a collaborative culture that values long-term employee development.

Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design-development, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projects.

Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements.

Perform quantity takeoffs for all construction trades and disciplines.

Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.

Develop detailed cost breakdowns, budgets, scopes of work, and bid packages.

Identify project risks, pricing gaps, and value engineering opportunities.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executive leadership during preconstruction planning.

Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.

Maintain current knowledge of labor trends, material pricing, and market conditions.

Assist with change order pricing, budgeting, and project cost analysis when needed.

Support client presentations and participate in project interviews.

Ensure bids are completed accurately and submitted within established deadlines.

3+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction.

Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.

Experience preparing estimates for ground-up and renovation commercial projects.

Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.

Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and sequencing.

Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region.
