    Great opportunity for Agronomists in Horticulture, Irrigation, or Parasitology interested in working in the U.S. on a TN Visa.     Position Summary

    The Landscaping Estimator / Horticulturist is responsible for evaluating landscape projects and properties to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements. This position combines horticultural knowledge with technical estimating skills to support accurate project planning and landscape installation and maintenance activities.

    The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of horticulture, landscape design plans, plant materials, irrigation specifications, site measurements, and mathematical calculations used in landscape estimating.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review landscape plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine project scope.
    • Calculate square footage, cubic yardage, quantities, measurements, and other project specifications.
    • Prepare estimates for landscape projects, including patios, pathways, borders, flower beds, edging, and other landscape installations.
    • Conduct site visits and inspect properties to evaluate existing landscape conditions and project requirements.
    • Measure lawns, planting beds, landscaped areas, and other site features.
    • Determine the labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete landscape projects or maintain properties.
    • Read and interpret landscape plans, scales, keys, and related technical information.
    • Identify and evaluate plant types and horticultural requirements relevant to proposed landscape work.
    • Review and interpret irrigation specifications as they relate to landscape projects.
    • Perform manual material takeoffs and develop detailed lists of materials and quantities required for project execution.
    • Apply horticultural principles when evaluating plant selection, soil conditions, irrigation needs, and landscape requirements.
    • Support accurate project planning through mathematical calculations, site analysis, and resource estimation.

    Education and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a closely related field.
    • Academic or professional knowledge of horticulture, plant science, soil management, irrigation, agricultural production systems, or related disciplines.
    • Knowledge of landscape estimating principles, including site measurement, material quantities, project planning, and resource allocation.
    • Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, scales, specifications, and keys.
    • Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations used in estimating and project planning.
    • Understanding of plant types, soil conditions, irrigation principles, and landscape installation practices.
    • Ability to perform material takeoffs and calculate project quantities accurately.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
    • Ability to analyze project plans and translate them into material and resource requirements.
    • Knowledge of horticultural and landscape principles.
    • Ability to conduct accurate field measurements and site assessments.
    • Strong organizational and project planning skills.
    • Ability to communicate project requirements and estimates clearly.
    • Ability to balance technical horticultural considerations with project cost and resource requirements.
    • Must have/maintain a clean driving record and Valid Driver's License
