Job Description

The responsibilities of an Estimator:

  • Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and final construction estimates.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost projections.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving recommendations.
  • Participate in design-build pursuits and collaborative preconstruction efforts.
  • Review project risks, scope gaps, and constructability considerations.
  • Support bid preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership teams throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, labor trends, and material costs.
  • Assist with federal procurement and government contracting opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful estimator should have:

  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience.
  • Federal construction estimating experience strongly preferred.
  • Design-build project experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating methodologies.
  • Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Eligible to pass federal background checks and obtain access to secure facilities.
  • Experience supporting Pentagon, military, federal agency, or similar government projects is highly desirable.
