    Description

    FindTalent is supporting a leading electrical contractor in their search for an experienced Estimator specializing in indoor electrical systems for data center projects. This role is based onsite full-time and focuses on delivering precise cost estimates, takeoffs, and proposals for complex data center electrical infrastructure projects.

    The Estimator will play a key role in supporting pre-construction and project delivery efforts—analyzing drawings and specifications, identifying value-engineering opportunities, and collaborating closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate bids and competitive pricing. This position requires deep technical expertise in electrical estimating for mission-critical facilities, as well as strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate effectively across disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare detailed electrical estimates and proposals for data center projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

    • Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to identify scope, risks, and value opportunities.

    • Perform quantity takeoffs using digital tools and estimating software.

    • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to develop bid strategies and ensure alignment on project scope and budget.

    • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotations.

    • Support the pre-construction process with cost studies, budgets, and conceptual estimates.

    • Participate in bid reviews, clarifications, and presentations as needed.

    • Maintain and update estimating databases, pricing libraries, and historical cost data.

    • Ensure compliance with company estimating standards, policies, and quality control procedures.

    • Support project handoff to operations and provide ongoing estimating assistance during project execution when required.

    Key Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

    • 5–7 years of experience in electrical estimating, specifically focused on data centers or other mission-critical facilities.

    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, lighting, UPS, and control systems.

    • Experience with indoor electrical construction (low voltage, medium voltage, and building systems).

    • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar).

    • Solid understanding of construction documents, design-build processes, and bid procedures.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

    Additional Information

    • Full-time, onsite role (5 days/week) in the Midwest region.

    • Limited travel may be required for pre-bid meetings or client walkthroughs.
