Estimator - Construction - Manhattan

Our client is a leading luxury residential General Contractor with an extensive portfolio of high-end renovations throughout Manhattan. Known for delivering bespoke penthouses, historic townhouse restorations, landmark brownstone renovations, and ultra-luxury apartment fit-outs, they have built a reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and long-standing client relationships.

As an Estimator - Construction - Manhattan, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates
  • Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Performing quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
  • Developing budgets throughout the preconstruction process
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
  • Coordinating with architects, designers, consultants, and ownership teams
  • Analyzing project risks and market conditions
  • Preparing bid packages and project proposals
  • Maintaining subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Supporting Project Managers with budget tracking and change orders
  • Assisting with project handoff to operations teams

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within construction
  • Extensive experience pricing luxury residential renovations
  • Experience with penthouses, townhouses, brownstones, or high-end apartments
  • Strong understanding of custom millwork, cabinetry, stone, and specialty finishes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and design drawings
  • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software
  • Strong subcontractor and vendor network within NYC
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong budgeting, analytical, and organizational abilities
  • Experience working with luxury residential clients and design teams
