Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial construction team specializing in building restoration and waterproofing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating concrete restoration, waterproofing, sealants, coatings, and related building envelope systems. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates while working closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the preconstruction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial restoration and waterproofing projects.
- Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, and equipment estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and project cost analyses.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
- Collaborate with project management to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
- Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, construction methods, and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assist with change order pricing and additional estimating requests throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
- Proven experience estimating restoration and waterproofing projects is required.
- Strong knowledge of concrete restoration, waterproofing systems, sealants, coatings, expansion joints, and related building envelope products.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, ProEst, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating projects for commercial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, or multifamily buildings.
- Knowledge of industry standards and restoration best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
