OpTalent is partnering with a respected electrical infrastructure contractor to hire an experienced Estimator â Airfield Systems / NAVAIDs professional. This role supports aviation and airport infrastructure projects, including FAA and airfield electrical systems.
Position Overview
The Estimator will prepare cost estimates, bid proposals, and preconstruction documentation for airfield electrical and navigational aid (NAVAIDs) projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with aviation electrical systems and estimating for airport or transportation infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates and bid packages for airfield electrical projects
- Review drawings, specifications, subcontractor, and vendor pricing
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams
- Support proposals and project planning efforts
- Utilize estimating software including Procore, Accubid, McCormick, Autodesk, and Esticom
- Assist with FAA/NAVAIDs and airfield systems projects
Required Qualifications
- Experience with airfield systems, NAVAIDs, or aviation electrical environments
- Estimating experience related to airport, FAA, aviation, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of:
- Airfield lighting systems
- PAPI/VASI systems
- Approach lighting systems
- VOR systems
- Previous experience as an airfield electrician, lead, superintendent, or foreman preferred
- Valid driverâs license and commitment to safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical construction background (field or estimating)
- 3â5+ years of electrical estimating, project engineering, or field supervision experience
- FAA-funded, DoD, or transportation infrastructure project experience
- OSHA certifications and estimating software proficiency preferred
