    Description

    Estimator - Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

    Our client is growing its Aerospace & Defense operations and is seeking an experienced Estimator to support complex manufacturing programs. This is an opportunity to apply your estimating and manufacturing knowledge to RFQs involving machining, sheet metal, brazing, finishing, and other precision processes.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    -Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
    -Develop manufacturing routings and determine required materials, labor, machine time, tooling, fixtures, outside processing, and special processes.
    -Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations for materials, heat treating, plating, finishing, testing, and other services; incorporate costs and lead times into proposals.
    -Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, customers, and suppliers while identifying manufacturing risks, cost drivers, and quoting opportunities.



    Requirements

    -3+ years of experience in manufacturing estimating, quoting, production planning, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.
    -Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, specifications, and engineering documentation, with knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal, brazing/welding, and finishing processes.
    -Experience with ERP/MRP systems, strong analytical and mathematical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
    -High school diploma or equivalent and legal authorization to work in the United States; strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills are required.

    Preferences

    -Aerospace & Defense manufacturing experience, particularly with complex, low-volume/high-mix components, AS9100 environments, or ITAR requirements.
    -Experience with aerospace/defense standards, MIL specifications, outside/special processes, manufacturing routings, labor standards, or quoting for prime contractors and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers.
