Lewis Rice LLC, a large and well-established downtown law firm, is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Estate Planning Department. This role is ideal for a dependable and collaborative professional who thrives in a team-focused environment. This position works a 35-hour work week, offers an excellent salary commensurate with experience and an excellent comprehensive benefits package including major medical plans, 401(k) plan and paid parking.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Electronically file court documents with state and local courts
  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals in estate planning and estate administration matters
  • Assist with the preparation of deeds and conduct property record and deed searches
  • Process, distribute, and coordinate outgoing and incoming mail, including FedEx shipments
  • Open and maintain client and matter records using the firm's client management system
  • Reconcile invoices and expense reports
  • Scan, organize, save, and maintain estate planning and estate administration documents and files
  • Proofread, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and other materials for accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and critical deadlines for attorneys and clients
  • Notarize legal documents as required
 
Job Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with legal software systems (training provided)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
