Tennessee School for the Deaf: ESL Position, Knoxville
Description:
An English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for deaf and hard of hearing students specializes in creating learning environment tailored to the needs of students with a foundation in written or spoke language other than English who have hearing loss. The teacher develops individual learning plans (ILP), individualized lesson plans, adapts materials, and employs strategies to ensure that all students can participate fully in lessons and activities. This position currently serves two students for 1 hour a day 5 days a week. The number of students can change depending on enrollment. The educator needs to have a background in American Sign Language usage and be able to sign.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid Tennessee teaching license with an ESL endorsement
