    Nature & Scope of Job:

    Selected staff member will provide pull out ESL instruction for multilingual students of varying English Language proficiency levels in grades K-4.

    Qualifications:

    New Jersey ESL certification required

    Experience teaching ESL preferred

    Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement highly desired

    Description:

    Implement standards-based instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and WIDA English Language Development Standards.

    Design and deliver lessons that integrate language and content objectives while promoting growth in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

    Apply research-based second language acquisition practices, including comprehensible input, structured interaction, and opportunities for meaningful language output.

    Differentiate instruction, scaffolds, and assessments to meet the academic and linguistic needs of multilingual learners at varying levels of English proficiency.

    Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and communicate student growth as required.

    Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment that promotes student engagement, belonging, and academic success.

    Maintain an organized, welcoming, and effective classroom environment that supports language development and student independence.

    Collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning and well-being.

    Fulfill instructional and non-instructional responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

    Engage in ongoing professional learning, collaboration, and reflective practice to strengthen instructional effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
