Primary Purpose: Provides supplemental support to the Bilingual/ESL Department and campus Emergent Bilingual point of contact.
Serves
as
liaison
between
area
schools,
parents,
and
the
Multilingual
Department.
Maintain
accurate
Emerging
Bilingual
student
records
for
the
campus.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance Ability to meet established deadlines Knowledge of general office equipment Experience: 2 years of data entry experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Records and Reports 1.
Assists

compilation

all
Bilingual/ESL
compliance
data
(testing
students,
requesting
records,
obtaining
original
Home
Language
Survey,
etc.)
in
order
for
the
campus
Language
Proficiency
Assessment
Committee
(LPAC)
to
make
program
placement
and
recommendations.

Assists
with
the
administration
and
scoring
of
the
Oral
Language
Proficiency
Test
to
determine
if
a
student
meets
criteria
for
entrance
into
the
Bilingual
or
ESL
Program.
3.
Assist
with
the
administration
of
the
IOWA
assessment
in
the
necessary
grade
levels
to
determine
if
a
student
meets
reclassification
criteria.
4.
Enters
LPAC
forms,
prepares
LPAC
folders
for
new
students,
distributes
and
collects
permission
letters.
