We are seeking an experienced Escrow Officer / Escrow Manager to join an established California escrow operation. This position is responsible for overseeing escrow transactions from initial setup through final disbursement while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable California requirements.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for fulfilling the experience requirements necessary to serve in a designated escrow management capacity. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced escrow professional who is comfortable managing an active pipeline and working directly with clients and transaction partners.
Minimum QualificationsAt least five years of relevant California escrow experience with the ability to satisfy applicable regulatory requirements for an escrow management position.
Demonstrated experience handling escrow transactions through the complete transaction lifecycle.
Strong understanding of California escrow practices, real estate transactions, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with escrow transaction management software; Qualia experience is highly desirable.
Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple active files while maintaining accuracy and meeting closing deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and standard business software.
Manage residential and/or commercial escrow transactions from opening through completion.
Establish and maintain accurate escrow files and transaction documentation.
Prepare and review escrow instructions, closing documents, and related paperwork.
Communicate regularly with buyers, sellers, real estate professionals, lenders, title representatives, and other transaction participants.
Review title-related information and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Obtain payoff information, association documentation, and other required items needed to facilitate closing.
Prepare preliminary and final settlement calculations and closing statements.
Monitor transaction requirements and ensure outstanding conditions are addressed before closing.
Coordinate signing, funding, recording, and disbursement activities.
Maintain timely and professional communication throughout the transaction.
Support the company's escrow management and regulatory compliance responsibilities.
Help prepare for regulatory reviews, audits, and internal file examinations.
Follow established company procedures and applicable California escrow requirements.
Perform additional duties related to escrow operations as required.
Previous experience with a California independent escrow operation.
Active California Notary Public commission is a plus.
Familiarity with federal mortgage disclosure and closing requirements, including TRID.
Experience managing a substantial volume of escrow files without compromising accuracy or service quality.
Experience working with a variety of residential and/or commercial transactions.
