Second shift: 5:00 PM–5:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
As the plant transitions into evening production, you arrive a few minutes early to review the night’s work orders and blueprints. You set up the ERW tube mill to the required specifications, install the correct tooling, verify alignment, and run the first piece. With calipers and micrometers in hand, you confirm dimensions before releasing the run. Throughout the night, you keep a close eye on line speed, weld integrity, and straightness—tweaking settings to keep quality on target. When a product changeover is called, you lead the tooling swap, help with the setup, and get the line back up quickly. If a hiccup appears, you troubleshoot, perform minor maintenance, and coordinate material flow using forklifts or cranes. You end the shift with a spotless work area and accurate production records.
