Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician
When a frightened family carries their child through the emergency department doors, the first hour can shape a lifetime. We are partnering with a respected health system to find a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician who brings both clinical precision and real compassion to that moment. You will lead resuscitations, steady anxious parents, and help build a pediatric emergency program that families trust. We are building a lasting career partnership with you, and this search is the first step.
What You Will Accomplish
- Deliver timely, high-acuity care: Evaluate and treat pediatric patients from neonates through adolescents. Meet or beat department benchmarks for door-to-provider time and left-without-being-seen rates within your first six months.
- Lead critical resuscitations: Run codes, trauma activations, and sepsis responses as team leader. Hold sepsis-bundle and airway-management performance at or above department quality targets.
- Perform procedures safely: Provide procedural sedation, airway management, fracture reductions, lumbar punctures, and laceration repairs with documented safety outcomes in line with department standards.
- Earn family trust: Communicate clearly with caregivers in high-stress moments. Contribute to measurable gains in patient-experience scores and reductions in avoidable return visits.
- Strengthen pediatric readiness: Within your first year, lead or co-lead at least one quality, protocol, or simulation initiative that improves emergency care for children.
- Document with discipline: Close charts within 24 hours, consistently meeting compliance and coding-accuracy expectations.
Environment and Resources
You will report to the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Director. You will work alongside fellow PEM physicians, advanced practice providers, pediatric-trained nurses, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists. You will also collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, radiology, and inpatient teams on consults, admissions, and transfers. The department uses a modern EHR and evidence-based pediatric order sets. Throughout the process, a dedicated clinical recruiter will be your single point of contact, from first conversation through credentialing and onboarding.
