The Opportunity

Our company is looking for a skilled and highly motivated Equipment Technician – Plasma Processes to support our advanced thin-film lithium niobate wafer fabrication operations.
In this role, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing excellence—ensuring the performance, reliability, and uptime of critical plasma etch and deposition tools. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams in a cutting-edge cleanroom environment, playing a key role in enabling innovation at scale.

What You'll Do

Maintain & Optimize Equipment Performance
  • Execute preventive maintenance and calibrations on plasma systems (PECVD, ICP, RIE, IBE)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and RF system issues
  • Perform equipment startup, qualification, and recovery with strong focus on safety and process integrity
  • Respond rapidly to tool alarms and system failures, minimizing downtime and maximizing throughput
Collaborate & Innovate
  • Partner with equipment and process engineers on experiments, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support robotic wafer handling systems, including alignment, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to process stability and yield improvement efforts
Drive Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, and parts usage
  • Manage spare parts and coordinate with vendors for field service support
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures and troubleshooting documentation
  • Ensure strict compliance with EHS, cleanroom, and safety protocols, including handling hazardous systems
What You Bring
  • Education: Associate's degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Experience: 3+ years in semiconductor, photonics, or precision manufacturing environments
  • Strong troubleshooting expertise across electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and robotic systems
  • Hands-on experience with plasma processing tools (PECVD, ICP, RIE, IBE, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of RF systems, vacuum technologies, gas delivery, and motion control
  • Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and leak detectors
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced production environment
