    Full Time (40 hours per week)

    M-F Days, Primarily 7:00am to 3:30pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm

    Onsite for NICU @ St. Elizabeth Medical Center

    Summary:

    The Equipment Technician maintains unit-based equipment and supplies at appropriate par levels.

    Responsibilities:

    • Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, with the support of the Clinical Coordinator or designee.
    • Provides support to a nursing unit by maintaining unit-based equipment and supplies at appropriate par levels.
    • Inspects and receives all incoming supplies and distributes to proper storage location in a timely manner.
    • Checks and ensures stock rotation and expiration dates.
    • Maintains Par levels, makes recommendations to the Unit Manager for adjustment to Pars based on utilization data.
    • Enters requisition orders in the hospital computer system.
    • Performs charge entry and other duties as assigned or requested.
    • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

    Other information:

    Technical Expertise

    • Experience using general mechanical skill, ability to understand medical terminology and relate it to the equipment and supplies is required.
    • Experience as an EMT or Medical Assistant training is preferred.
    • Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
    • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
    • Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

    Education and Experience

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    • Certification: None.

    • Years of relevant experience 0 to 2 years is preferred.

    • Years of experience supervising: None.

    • Possesses a valid State driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain insurability as determined by the ACH insurance carrier's requirements.

    • An annual physical is required to be completed with the Akron Children's Hospital Employee Health Department.
